Looking Forward to Summer

I Thought I Was Done, But . . .
The past few months have been seriously busy. A month ago, I announced that our latest book, From Adventure to Spiritual Warfare, had been sent to the publishers. It is the fourth book in our series of Adventures with God memoirs. I had planned to take a break from book editing and work on some other things for a few months.

Not so! I immediately received one questionnaire after another from the publishers asking for my input on the front and back cover content and other parts of the book, etc. I expect to get more questionnaires from the publisher to complete in the coming months. Our three daughters will be writing the Foreword, each writing a section from her viewpoint. Yet, all this progress is also a cause to celebrate.

It was also time to write and send the 3rd Quarter Update to all our friends, family, and ministry partners. Plus, I had committed to preach the Fathers’ Day message at our church in Stony Plain. This took more preparation than speaking about Bible translation, which I have preached on frequently.

The Summer Blogging Break and Celebration Dates
So, the usual Summer Blogging Break came at the right time. We expect to enjoy a family reunion at a campground near a lake out west in July. We’re looking forward to having all twenty-two family members there, including, for the first time, two great-granddaughters! God is so good to us!
Here are two more important dates for us to celebrate. On July 20, 1950, the immigrant ship docked in Halifax, and the family, of which I was the 12-year-old son, started our life in Canada. That will be the 74th anniversary of our arrival in Canada!
On August 10, 1990, we celebrated the dedication and distribution of the newly published translation of the Bible in the Canela language. Thus, it is the 34th anniversary of the Canelas receiving God’s Word in their language!

Happy Summer to You All
Yes, summer is a great time to celebrate God’s work in our lives.
Jo and I pray that you too, will have good times of relaxing and possibly celebrating some notable events in your lives this summer.
We plan for the next INsights & OUTbursts blog post to appear in your Inbox on Thursday, September 5.
Until then, may God continue to bless you with His grace and mercy.

Much love from
Jack and Jo.
